A funny, albeit GREAT representation of the Black Out, Ron Paul Video...

Ron Paul 2012: Who's crazy now, naysayers!

I took an interest in Ron Paul back in 2008.  I knew who he was before then, but because he had made a White House attempt in my voting years, I didn't spend a lot of time listening to where he was coming from.  What I did know, I liked...but I was lead to believe that a win for him would be impossible, and thus, I voted McCain (boo and hiss all you want!  Look what we got instead and tell me that's better).  Besides, McCain is actually an honest guy.  Most people had a problem with his VP pick, not him.

Paul was referred to as a "nut," by the media and turned a lot of folks off.  It's interesting today, though...as a whole lot of people are now saying that the reason they like him is because of those very ideals that lead him to being called crazy...because those ideals are completely the opposite of this nightmare we currently live in.

By the way, this is MY blog, so I really don't care about anyone's feelings when I post here.  Unlike Facebook, Google won't censor my commentary because it doesn't fall in line with their principals.  Oh yes, Facebook is on a mad conservative-quashing mission...See my G+ account for details.

So, today, I bring you something different.  I'm not going to tell you all the reasons that I am voting for Ron Paul.  There really isn't anything I don't agree with him on.  But, because the masses are so ignorant, I am going to clarify a couple of things for which I get push back when people want to know I am for this amazing man.

1) Ron Paul is Pro-Life...how can you as a Pro-Choicer pick him?
The problem with the abortion issue is that abortion shouldn't be an issue at all.  Whether a candidate is PC or PL, really, makes no difference.  However, if a candidate came in and said, "I am going to make it a federal crime to have an abortion," I would surely raise issue with this.  You see, Ron Paul is a CONSTITUTIONALIST before anything else.  He doesn't want to make abortion illegal...he simply wants to take away the federal government's jurisdiction over the issue.  This means that the issue would be returned to the states (the voters) to decide what is best for them.  He also wants to ensure federal monies are not used to provide this service...not necessarily because of the moral implications, but because tax payers should not be paying for the care of some woman's reproductive system.  I am completely, 100% in agreement with that.  I think one would have to have a pretty sanctimonious sense of entitlement to think otherwise.

This issue (like many others) gets gnarled up by politics.  People think that any action on Roe v. Wade  means that someone is trying to outlaw a woman's right to choose.  That's so blatantly wrong, it's insane.  It is a choice that needs to be returned to the states and the feds need to keep their hands off our bodies.

2) But Obama wants to take care of your student loans!  How can you not be behind that?

I'll tell you why!  It's MY debt.  And yes, I do have student loans.  I incurred them, and I need to pay them.  In fact, I do pay them, every month.  Does it suck?  Well, of course it does....but if I don't pay it, who will?  YOU WILL.  Obama doesn't want to take out his personal checkbook and pay my debt.  He wants to take YOUR MONEY and pay my debt.  You know what that is?  It's called welfare, and thanks, but no thanks.  Our welfare system is already way past out of control.  In truth, welfare is a form of oppression.  It keeps the poor...poor.

Also, I find it interesting that Obama is choosing to do this now...with an illegal executive order, I might add.  Is it as transparent to any besides me that this is a ploy to get the young vote?  It's reminiscent of the Obama checks.  Speaking of which, I never got mine.  I did get my Bush tax stimulus, though...so yay for that.

3) I think you don't like Obama because you are just anti-Liberal.

The fuck I am.  My mother and sister are Liberals.  And I love those ladies something fierce.  I also completely understand where they are coming from and, though it's not always what I agree with, I always respect it.  I don't like Obama for many, many reasons.  Yes, I think he is an absolutely horrible president.  And, because making a statement like that is a big deal, I will tell you exactly what bugs me:

a) He is a populist.  Everybody wants a freebie, and he thinks telling everyone that they are entitled to those freebies (despite whether he follows through or not) is shady as shit.
b) He is a socialist.  If I actually have to explain why I think this, then you, my friend, need to research socialism.
c) He bailed out AIG...probably the WORST financial decision in the history of US politics.
d) He bailed out GM.
e) He bailed out the banks.
f) He did it with tax payer money.
g) He waged an illegal war with Libya.
h) He took credit for the slaughter of two American citizens without due process.  WTF?!!?  Even Bush had Saddam prosecuted!  Who is the war monger?
i) He invoked Americans to CELEBRATE the death of humans in OBL and Ghadafi.  Whether you believe in our ridiculous foreign policy of nation building or not, celebrating the taking of human life is anti-American at its core.
j) Our troops are STILL gone.  We've been told and told and told again that this would stop.  He is a liar.

I could actually go on for days, but I am already on a government watch list, so I will just stop there.

I almost never "go off" on the issue of politics.  I have my beliefs and I try to zip it, for the most part, as so many of my friends and cohorts are Liberals.  However, with the recent "SHUT UP!" passed to my by Facebook, and all the ignorant rejoicing of murder I have seen lately, I refuse to just bow down anymore.  My Liberal friends don't lie awake at night worrying about hurting my feelings when they call my candidate crazy (because they watch WAY too much TV).  So, when I call theirs an asshole, I guess I shouldn't have any trouble dozing off tonight either.

Go suck it.
